Losing weight is hardAF

Aug 21, 2019

Losing weight is hardAF….there is no way to sugar coat that.
I have lost weight, gained weight, got back to goal weight, competed, reverse dieted, lost more weight to compete some more, reverse dieted, ate at maintenance and started losing weight again.

Losing weight takes DISCIPLINE, not willpower.
Losing weight needs DISCIPLINE to create the consistency that eventually shows up on the scale and tape measure.

Discipline is doing all the things you should do when you “don’t feel like it”.
Discipline is saying ‘no’ to driving to Chikfila because it doesn’t fit your macros today.
Discipline is getting up to workout in the morning bc you won’t do it after work.
.
Self-discipline takes practice and repetition.
It gets easier after -time, but sometimes losing weight can be taxing, hungry or boring and there is a chance to “fall off”. Then we get motivated at some point to go back to practicing discipline and we’re back in the game.

I reversed dieted, ate a maintenance for a while last year and decided I wanted to get leaner this year. It took a minute to get started; a while for me to want it bad enough to be as disciplined agained. It was hard for me again. Forget that I’ve lost 150 lbs, but it was hard to be disciplined to lose 7lbs. So when someone says losing weight is hard, I get you.

If this resonates with you, elaborate below or comment “me too”.
