Macro Tracking Dos and Don’ts.

Doing macros isn’t hard, but you’ve got to do it right.

See, macro nutrition is hands-down the most effective way to lose fat and build the body composition of your dreams.

But, if you’re not being meticulous about tracking, especially at the beginning, you won’t see the benefits you want.

Macros aren’t a half-in-half-out, eat as much as you want, whatever you want kinda thing.

It’s science.

Here are some simple dos and don’ts to follow when tracking macros.

These are super important to follow, especially at the beginning of your macro nutrition journey.

 

Don’t

  • Guesstimate your portions
  • Track after eating
  • Measure using ‘cups’ or ‘tablespoons’
  • Eat back those ‘burned’ exercise calories
  • Forget to focus on all 3 macro groups

 

Do

  • Use a food scale
  • Include BLTs (bites, licks, tastes)
  • Pre-plan and pre-track your meals/snacks
  • Include sauces, dressings & drinks
  • Track alcohol as carbs or fats

 

Successful macro tracking takes time, patience, and practice.
