Maybe because you keep quitting!
Look, you know I’m always gonna keep it real.
Reverse diets work. They’re necessary! But you’ve really got to go after it.
It won’t work if you keep quitting!
Yea, the scale going up is scary.
What’s scarier? Starving yourself and getting nowhere.
Reverse diets take two things:
- Time
- Discipline
You’re not going to ‘undo’ years of metabolic damage in a few weeks and you’re going to have to resist the temptation to go back to your old eating patterns before it’s time.
When I did my reverse after 2.5 years of competing, I tried to get back to normal too early and failed miserably.
I had to go back to the reverse dieting drawing board, and I ended up spending an entire 2 years in an intentional reverse + maintenance time to get my body balanced so my hormones and metabolism would work properly again.
It was frustrating AF but I did it.
And now I can eat more than ever before while maintaining my physique and my quickly body responds to deficits without plateauing.
The truth is, you’re eating more so you will gain weight.
And at the end of the reverse, you likely won’t love your body, you may feel fluffy, and you may feel like you failed. But you haven’t.
Because when you do it the right way, as soon as you drop back into a deficit (at your new higher caloric intake, yay!) that weight will come off and you’ll love your physique.
Trust me on this. I’ve been there, and my clients have been there too.
Reversing changes more than just the scale and your physique. It changes your mindset and relationship with food too.
And that’s the best part! Because when you reverse you can have it all.
