What is Intuitive Eating?

Thankfully at this point though, my intuitive eating skills are pretty great! 

Then again, I tracked for years, and years, and I am now a highly sought-after expert in macros. I’ve earned my ability to eat intuitively after years (yes, I said years 3 times) of practice. 

For most people, eating at maintenance is very easy. Our body wants to feel satiated and instinctively knows how many calories it needs to survive. 

For even more people, eating in surplus is also pretty easy. Especially with all the super-sizing and easy-access, high-calorie foods around. 

Eating in deficit, however, is another story…even for me! 

Research has shown that many people who *think* they’re eating 1500 calories a day are usually eating more like 1700-2100 calories daily. Which totally derails their weight loss goals. 

I mean, that’s a whole 200-600 calorie discrepancy. Your entire healthy daily deficit! 

The kicker is, the closer you get to your goal the more important tracking becomes. It’s essential for accuracy and sustainability. 

So, if you’re currently in an ‘intuitive deficit’ but not seeing progress, getting back to the basics of tracking could be the simple jumpstart you need to start seeing forward movement!
